Making the Offer Once you've found a home that you'd like to buy, and are ready to make an offer, we will draft the purchase agreement and get it submitted to the listing agent or owner as soon as possible. If the seller doesn't accept your offer as written -- which they rarely do -- we will get written counteroffers back from the seller. We will help you evaluate and respond to these counteroffers as well. Counteroffers may go back and forth between the parties several times before an agreement is reached. During the offer process we will negotiate on your behalf, and be your advocate for the price you want to pay. We'll explain the logic of the offer, and point out some of the things that are keeping you from making a full-price offer if necessary. In an effort to get the best price for you, we will also be careful not to insult the seller. Again, it must be a win/win situation for a deal to come together and for both parties to be satisfied. |
